ProMill - Paneling

PANELLING SPECIFICATION

Paneling is a generic term to describe any of a multitude of different timber profiles used as a decorative lining or sarking on walls, ceilings, and some furniture applications.

PROFILES AVAILABLE

The most common Paneling profile required by the New Zealand market is the standard tongue, groove, and "v" on both sides (TG&V), and this profile is normally held in stock in nominal 90x19, 135x19, and 90x9 sizes.

Other profiles such as shiplap, reversible TG&V, TG/TGV, etc. can be produced as required by customers. Normally, a minimum order volume of 200 lineal metres is required to achieve economic machining of non-standard profiles.

SPECIES AVAILABLE
Typical species used for Paneling include :

American White Oak, Australian Ash, Damanu, Douglas Fir, Fiji Kauri, Jarrah, Kaudamu, Macrocarpa, Radiata Pine, Rimu, Silver Beech, and Tawa.

Of these, only Rimu is normally stocked in a profiled condition.

Most of the other species are held in stock in a rough sawn condition, and can normally be manufactured into a Paneling profile within 7 days of order confirmation.

STANDARDS
Paneling is supplied kiln dried , and graded to the published grading rules of the timber's country of origin.

The standard finished widths of the most popular Paneling profiles are:

  • All Paneling profiles are machined to these sizes unless otherwise agreed prior to production.
  • It is the responsibility of the specifier to ensure that the specification selected (timber species, grade, and profile) is both practical, and conforms to the buyer's requirements.
